DOMINO’S TRIALS ‘TAP & TAKE ONLY’ STORES IN AUSTRALIA FOR CONVENIENCE & SAFETY

Domino’s Pizza Enterprises Limited (“Dominos”) has today announced it will be trialling a Tap & Take only payment model at five of its stores in Australia in a bid to create a faster and more convenient experience for customers.

Domino’s Australia and New Zealand CEO Nick Knight said the Company’s Tap & Take trial stores would accept all forms of payment, except cash, to not only increase customer convenience but also team member safety.

“The Domino’s ethos has always been about increasing convenience for our customers – even being the first pizza company in Australia to offer home delivery all those years ago.

“Our Tap & Take stores will enable our customers to get piping hot meals faster than ever; reducing in-store queues and delivery wait times.

“Just as the name suggests, customers simply need to tap their card, phone, smart watch or finger on the keyboard and take their piping hot meal as soon as it’s ready – it’s as simple and easy as that!” Mr Knight said.

“In addition to increasing convenience for our customers this new model will increase safety, with zero cash kept on the premises or carried by our delivery experts.

“With the growth of tap-and-go payment systems and mobile payment technology, use of cash is slowing and we’re seeing that right across our network.

“We’re now heading towards a very real future where the legal tender could be solely electronic, so it’s important that we remain digitally agile and continue to meet consumer demands.”

Mr Knight said Domino’s regularly trials new initiatives and adjusts its strategy based on customer feedback and results.

“It’s this mentality that has seen us achieve so many ‘firsts’ and pave the way in the industry – from creating piping hot pizzas for value prices to developing innovative new technology like GPS Driver Tracker and DOM Pizza Checker.”

The Tap & Take trial will commence in Domino’s Newtown (NSW), Coffs Harbour (NSW), Wauchope (NSW), Calamvale (QLD) and Surfers Paradise South (QLD) from Tuesday 9 July 2019.

Customers can still pay via a range of options including credit card, debit card, eftpos and mobile/apple watch in-store, and via credit card, debit card, eftpos to door, PayPal, Instagift, ApplePay and Android Pay online.
