MEDIA STATEMENT REGARDING FRANCHISEE LITIGATION

Domino’s was approached for comment regarding a news story, which aired tonight.

The full statement is published below:

In May 2019, Domino’s advised that some franchisees who no longer have the passion to operate a Domino’s store may choose to exit our business.

We shared that some of those franchisees may, as an attempt to bargain with us, take legal action or raise their concerns through the media.

This is one such case. Therefore, we are disappointed, but not surprised, by the franchisee’s comments.

As this case is currently before the court it is not appropriate to respond point by point.

The $5 value range is only one part of the pricing strategy and the franchisee only offered it at certain times for much of the past five years.

By our records, the franchisee’s sale of pizzas at $5 has accounted for less than 5% of their total sales in dollars.

While we are disappointed the franchisee has chosen this path of litigation, from the information available to us, we consider the claims to be without merit, and in fairness to our investors and franchisee network, it is important we defend the claims.
